In May 2009, Om Malik’s GigaOm blog site introduced GigaOm Pro, a new source of analyst research and commentary, focused on emerging technology markets.  One of its first reports is The Future of Pay TV Services; an in-depth overview and analysis of the rapid transformation underway in the video business, by Steven Hawley of tvstrategies.

TelcoTV Asia 2009 took place on October 13-14, 2009, in Shanghai China, covering converged TV and its sustainable development.  Service providers from China and around the world made presentations.  Steven Hawley was Conference Chair for Day 2, and moderated panel sessions on interactive television and “Bringing it all together.”

TelcoTV 2009 - The eighth annual TelcoTV conference took place on November 10-12 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando Florida.  Steven Hawley moderated the panel session entitled “Personalizing TV: Reality or Urban Legend?” on Wednesday Nov 11 at 2pm.  View program

Supercomm 2009 took place on October 21-23, 2009, at McCormick Place in Chicago.  Steven Hawley moderated a panel session entitled “Overcoming IPTV Obstacles with Open Platforms” with Consolidated Communications, Cloverleaf Digital and Nokia Siemens on October 22

TV Innovation Awards - As part of the Television 3.0 Summit & Expo on October 6, 2009, the TV Innovation Awards recognized forward thinking companies that are driving the new on-demand “anywhere anytime any device” TV paradigm.   Steve Hawley was among the judges.

IPTV Forum Asia 2009 - The fourth annual IPTV World Forum conference took place on December 1-2 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Hong Kong.  Steven Hawley participated in a panel session that was moderated by the Open IPTV Forum.  Download program

The annual IPTV Worlds Series Awards and gala dinner event took place on the evening of March 23, 2010 at the Royal Garden Hotel in London.  Steven Hawley has been one of the judges for this event since 2007.

The Sixth Annual IPTV World Forum event took place at Olympia, London, on March 23-25, 2010.  Steven Hawley of tvstrategies was Chair for the End-to-End-IP track during Day 1.   He also hosted an analyst round table briefing on IPTV middleware at the Analyst Breakfast Briefing that took place on Day 2.  The conference program is available for download here.

Apps World 2010 - This inaugural two day event takes place November 30 - December 1, 2010, in London.  Apps World is designed for Network Operators, OS Vendors, Brand & Marketing Managers and Technology providers, and has tracks for TV Apps, Mobile Apps and App Developers.   Steve Hawley is supporting the conference organizer and will have a role in the event.
